My parcel was stopped and handed over for customs inspection. Why was my parcel selected, and how can I avoid this in the future?
All international parcels may be inspected by customs upon arrival. Selection and customs clearance timeframe often depends on how accurately the sender completed the CN23 declaration—listing correct quantities, contents, and values, with nothing concealed and no prohibited items included. Prohibited goods lists are available on our website for each destination country. Incomplete or careless declarations can lead to delays, required documentation, extra fees, or duties for the recipient. Try to avoid your parcel becoming a penalty for a recipient instead of being a joy.
Your parcel is currently being held by Ukrainian Customs because it does not meet the allowable criteria for content weight. The total weight of items in a parcel to Ukraine should not exceed 10 kilograms. Because it exceeds the limit (contains 14.5 kilograms of food), the parcel is considered “improperly declared” or containing restricted quantities, making it ineligible for standard delivery to you as a resident.
