Packaging handling

Packaging

It is important to ensure that parcels are packed in full compliance with the regulations and requirements of both the origin and destination countries, as well as the specific conditions of the chosen delivery method. All information about the allowed sizes of parcels by country and delivery methods is provided on our website. You would need to select the country and type of delivery.

Packaging must ensure the safety and integrity of its contents throughout transportation. Items should be packed securely, tightly, and in an orderly manner to prevent damage.

If the parcel is large but lightweight, cost will be based on volumetric weight.

We attach information on the procedure for calculating the volumetric weight.

Calculation of Volumetric Weight

  • The cost of shipping a parcel depends not only on its weight, but also on the size of the box.
  • If the parcel is light, but has significant dimensions, the cost of delivery should be charged according to the so-called “volumetric weight”.
  • The “volumetric weight” is determined by multiplying the three dimensions of the box, the height, the length and the width in inches, and dividing by the number 139, as shown in the illustration.
  • Example 1. The box measures 18x20x24 inches and weighs 19 pounds. 18x20x24/139= 62 Lbs. Volumetric weight is 62 pounds, the cost of delivery of the parcel will be charged according to the volumetric weight – 62 pounds.
  • Example 2. The box measures 16x19x20 inches and weighs 44 pounds. In this case, the volumetric weight does not exceed the physical weight and tariffication should be carried out according to the physical weight.
