The CN23 form, also known as an international customs declaration, must be completed for any shipment crossing international borders. Every parcel sent to another country is subject to inspection by the customs authorities of the destination country. It is not possible to send parcels internationally without a fully completed customs declaration.
Instructions for Completing the Customs Declaration CN23
How to Fill in the Customs Declaration CN23
The Customs Declaration CN23 must be completed separately for each parcel. It is important to provide detailed information about the contents of the parcel.
Listing Parcel Contents
When filling out the CN23 form, list every item contained in the parcel. For each item, specify its name, quantity, and total value. The declaration should not include vague or general terms such as “clothes,” “used things,” “humanitarian aid,” “souvenirs,” or “components.” Instead, provide a detailed inventory by naming each item specifically. For example, instead of “clothes,” list “sweater,” “pants,” “shirt,” etc.
In the “quantity” column, indicate the amount for each specific item, such as the number of sweaters or shirts.
Signature Requirement
The sender’s signature is required on the declaration. This is a mandatory element and must be included to validate the form.
