CN23 — Customs Declaration

What is CN23

A CN23, or international customs declaration, is completed for any shipment that crosses the national borders of the world’s countries. Every shipment to any country is subject to thorough inspection by the customs authorities of the destination country. Without a completed customs declaration, it is impossible to send your parcel.

How to fill it in

A separate CN23 customs declaration must be completed for each parcel, stating information about the parcel’s contents: the names of the goods, their quantity and total value. When filling in the declaration, it is prohibited to use general terms such as «clothing», «used items», «humanitarian aid», «souvenirs», «components» and the like. You must draw up a full list of the parcel’s contents, specifying the exact items. Next to each item (sweater, trousers, shirt, phone), enter a figure in the «quantity» column.

Sender’s signature

A mandatory requirement on the declaration is the sender’s signature.
