All international parcels undergo customs control and scanning upon arrival in the destination country, and customs officers have the right to inspect any parcel. That said, clearance times usually depend on how thoroughly and accurately the sender filled out the CN23 declaration — listing everything in the parcel, quantities and value, hiding nothing and including no prohibited items. Lists of prohibited items are available on our website, in the section for each destination country. There are many examples of careless and negligent declaration by senders. As a result, instead of being a gift and a joy for the recipient, a parcel can turn into a burden: they may have to visit the customs office, provide documents confirming the value of the contents, and, if necessary, pay duties and bear other costs.
